    According to data from Alzheimer Europe, it is estimated that there are more than 230,000 people living with dementia in Portugal, with the prevalence rate being the third highest in Europe.

    Considering the demographic data of the Autonomous Region of the Azores and the national prevalence estimate of 2.29%, it is estimated that more than 5,500 Azoreans may currently be living with dementia.
