alza was one of the 42 national associations taking part in the study "Cognitive Stimulation in Older Adults with Alzheimer's Disease: Effects across Multiple Domains and Sociogeographic Contexts", which counted on the collaboration of several university institutions, Replicar Socialform and other partner entities.
As part of this study, over 12 weeks a group of clients took part twice a week in individual sessions with the RehaCom® training programme, a computerised cognitive rehabilitation software, while another group carried out individual sessions with the therapeutic tools "Domínios Cognitivos" and "Memórias de Norte a Sul". Assessments of global cognition, emotional state and quality of life were also carried out at three different moments.
The aim is to understand the effects of two stimulation modalities: one digital and one analogue. The association between different social and geographic contexts and the course of dementia will also be assessed.
